Technical Writer

Technical Writer | Defence Program | NV1 Cleared | Canberra or Adelaide

Cleared Recruitment is partnering with a key Defence program to find an experienced NV1 Technical Writer with strong technical expertise and the required security clearances to support mission-critical documentation and content management.

We’re looking for someone who can produce high-quality technical documents, diagrams, and presentations while collaborating closely with engineering and project teams. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and experience supporting DevSecOps or technical delivery environments.

Due to the nature of this program, Australian Citizenship and an active NV1 or higher security clearance (NV2/TS-PV highly regarded) are mandatory.

This is a 12-month contract likely to extend!

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Develop and maintain a wide range of technical documentation including roadmaps, design documents, security documents, and project management reports.
• 
  Produce diagrams, tables, and other supporting content for technical and business processes.
• 
  Support the management of electronic documentation and content management systems (e.g., Atlassian Confluence) aligned with DevSecOps practices.
• 
  Assist with presentations, demonstrations, and project activity administration.
• 
  Provide project recordkeeping and version control support as required.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong writing, editing, and document design skills in technical or Defence-related environments.
• Familiarity with content management systems and collaborative tools such as Confluence.
• Ability to understand and document complex technical information for a range of audiences.
• Experience working within structured environments, including Defence or Government programs, is highly desirable.
• Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Eligibility:

• Australian Citizenship (Mandatory).
• Active NV1 or NV2 Security Clearance (Essential; TS-PV highly regarded).
• Willingness to work onsite at DSTG Fairbairn (Canberra), Russell Offices (Canberra), or Edinburgh (Adelaide), with occasional WFH options as approved.
